Hypertension in Children? Not just OSA.

The relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and adult hypertension has been extensively studied; however, it remains understudied in pediatric patients without OSA. Thus, studies in children are lacking. In order to begin addressing this specific knowledge gap, our lab embarked on a retrospective chart study with a team from Nemours Children Hospital in Delaware and Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia. Led by Alyssa Exarchakis, MD (CMSRU 2025) we identified certain factor that contributed to an increased chance of hypertension in children. Interested in reading more? Access the article here
